Responsibilities:
The Surgery Procedure Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the schedules of physicians, operating rooms, anesthesiologists, equipment, lab work and any other required items/staff in accordance with a physician's recommendation for patient care. Acts as a liaison between the patient, provider/referring physician, primary care physician, and other parties involved in the surgery/procedure to include distribution of pre and post-operative information to the patient. Gather and record financial and insurance information and ensure authorizations are obtained prior to the procedure/surgery.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM
High School Diploma/GED
One year of surgery scheduling experience
Familiarity with operating room scheduling processes critical
Ability to effectively interact with insurance carriers
Basic Computer skills
PREFERRED
Three years related experience
Bi-lingual
Previous office experience
College level business coursework
Medical Assistant Certificate
