Our Surgery RN positions are critical to the success of St. Joseph's Medical Center and require the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health.  It is expected that our employees demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.
 
The Surgery RN assesses patient/family health problems and resources, and takes a leadership role in the development, implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care. The Surgery RN provides professional nursing care and interventions to critically ill patient population(s). This position requires providing service to one or more age groups including ill children (SICU) through geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS:
* Graduate of an RN School of Nursing.
* Current California RN License.
* One year recent acute care experience. 
* Completion of a Perioperative 101 (or equivalent) course of study or two (2) years recent inpatient operating room nuring experience. 
* Current BLS required through the American Heart Association
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills computer literacy preferred.

PREFERRED:
* Bachelor degree in health related field preferred.
* Current ACLS through the American Heart Association
