Responsibilities:
You'll oversee and coordinate all on-site health information management workflows within acute care Health Information Management departments, ensuring compliance with CMS and TJC regulations. Your leadership will ensure efficiency and a customer-focused approach in key areas, including:
* Medical Records Management: Directing document retrieval, assessment, scanning, and indexing into electronic medical record systems.
* Quality & Compliance: Ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and adherence to industry regulations.
* Team Leadership: Supervising staff, providing mentorship, and fostering a positive work environment.
* Patient & Provider Support: Managing on-site release of information and assisting with regulatory survey responses.
* Cross-Department Collaboration: Partnering with medical staff and other departments to resolve issues efficiently.
Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
* Experience:
* Minimum three years' experience in health information management, required.
* Minimum of two years in a supervisory role. Internal Candidates: A combination of the above qualifications and proven success will be considered within HIM leader discretion, required.
* Licensure/Certification: RHIT or RHIA, required.
* Additional Skills Required: Experience with fostering strong relationships with members of a medical staff; knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and other related regulations that pertain to medical record/hospital records. Must be comfortable in a computer based workflow environment. Should have a strong working knowledge of HIPAA requirements. Must have the ability to multitask and work independently with limited supervision. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities.
* Additional Skills Preferred: Experience with the EPIC EHR and/or Hyland On Base scanning application.
