				Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY: Under close supervision, the Supply Chain Pharmacy Technician I will assist with picking pharmaceutical orders for OSF HealthCare hospitals and clinics. This includes demonstrating proficiency utilizing Epic Willow inventory to identify orders to be picked and consolidated, at the accurate time, sent via the correct route (truck, courier, or 3PL), under the appropriate temperature range according to manufacturer guidelines following cold chain policies and procedures. Maintains records related to drug distribution. Follows signs on medications and specific national drug codes and understands and picks items according to their covered entity status. Has a general knowledge of health system 340B covered entity status. Appropriately rotates stock, completes cleaning assignments, and demonstrates competency with acute and ambulatory medications. Although duties may vary by assigned area or shift, the following accurately describes the essential job functions.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/ GED 

Experience: 1 year of hospital pharmacy or drug distribution experience as a pharmacy technician

 Licensure/ Certification: Pharmacy Technician License in Illinois 

Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB OR National Healthcare (ExCPT) OR Pharmacy Technician License in Illinois registered and active prior to January 1, 2008 

Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in the tasks and technical skills outlined above, including packaging, labeling, storage, record keeping requirements, and the ability to perform and apply arithmetic calculations and Integrated Distribution Center policies and procedures. Type at acceptable levels of speed and accuracy in order to communicate and fill orders at a level normally acquired through completion of one to three months course work in touch typing, which can be obtained in high school. Concentrate and pay close attention to detail when picking or checking drugs for distribution. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to work well with others. Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner.

Experience: 1 year prior experience with pharmacy automation, including inventory management systems. 1 year prior experience with 340B split billing software systems. 1 year prior experience with hazardous and non-hazardous drug handling.

 Licensure/ Certification: N/A 

Other Skills/ Knowledge: Strong analytical skills, the ability to trouble shoot various problems as they arise, and demonstrated proficiency in using pharmacy automation equipment and related software. Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
