Overview: This position is responsible project coordination, planning, and day to day administration of the Supply Chain staff responsible for the receiving, distribution and overall inventory management of supplies within the Surgical Department while concurrently facilitating efficient and cost-effective operations to meet current business needs of the organization related to supply chain. Responsibilities: * Lead the Supply Chain team in managing the day-to-day activities to support the receiving, distribution and inventory management functions. * Provide overall prioritization of work assignments and management of functional team resources, and their activities. * Provides input into hiring, appraising, developing and improving employee performance * Prepare and participate in the preparation of staff development plans for each staff member. * Assess the skills and skill levels necessary to achieve Supply Chain work objectives. * Coordinates staff orientation and on-job training for staff * Establish effective mechanisms of communication with Supply Chain team members and UnityPoint Health affiliate personnel to foster an environment, of openness, trust, teamwork and staff development.Monitors daily activity and productivity, recommending adjustments to staff responsibilities to meet department goals. * Provides support to Supply Chain team member on processes, ERP, and other functions of the department. * Foster and maintain positive relationships with Supply Chain constituents, including local / regional (primary focus on Patient Care departments) and System Service (Central Procurement/Contracting/Value Analysis). * Serve as an interface between internal/external customers and the functional team members to ensure effective delivery of Supply Chain services. * Promote proactive approaches to solve business needs/problems, while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the Supply Chain operation. * Provides input into the planning, budgeting and forecasting of Supply Chain needs. Qualifications: Education: Associates Degree or courses leading to a Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business or a Related Field or 10+ years relevant experience required Experience: 5+ years relevant experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Control or in a Surgical Environment required License(s)/Certification(s): Certified Surgical Technologist required
