Direct responsibility for the daily operations management within HIM for multiple facilities and clinics, to include staff oversight, training and education, quality, productivity, and report management. Supports the department and hospital staff with HIM related, issues, questions, and provides follow-up and escalation as needed. Assists HIM Manager/Director with forms management, HIPAA requests, regulatory readiness and other compliance activities. Supports the HIM Manager/Director with short term and long-term planning for staffing and  implementing new workflow procedures. Acts as a liaison between IT and EPIC end users. Attends and facilitates meetings on behalf of the HIM Manager/Director. Competently able to speak and independently handle situations in the absence of the HIM Manager/Director.

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

* 1-3 years of health information management experience in a health care setting required (acute care preferred).

* 1-year supervisory/leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.

* Experience with an electronic health record, health information systems and health care applications required.

* Proficient in medical terminology required.

* Experience with regulations and accreditation standards.
* HS GED Required
* Associates Degree in health-related field (RHIT) or completion of healthcare degree program (RHIA) preferred upon hire. Required within 2 years of starting.
* RHIA/RHIT, Preferred

Physical Requirements - Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
