Responsible to the Emergency Nurse Manager/Director. Functions as the unit supervisor, clinical resource person, and responsible for nursing resource utilization. Assumes responsibility for unit operations for shift worked.

Responsibilities:

Follows process that define qualifications, responsibilities, competencies of staff needed to provide care
and services that meet the needs of the staff and patients in the unit.
Familiar with the staffing plan to meet customer and service needs that effectively addresses staffing guidelines, productivity measures, and the unit plan of care to provide safe and high quality service.
Leads on departmental work teams that successfully assess, revise, and improve work outcomes.
Provides frequent and clear communication and feedback to staff based on individual needs and job requirements.
Administers corrective action as appropriate.
Provides or facilitates continuing education/training for team members, with particular focus on quality improvement in teams, use of equipment, interpersonal relationships, customer service, and leadership as
assigned or delegated.

Qualifications:

Current licensure as Registered Nurse in the state of Arkansas. BSN, or pursuit of BSN or higher degree required.

A minimum of four years clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting or three years demonstrated leadership as a charge RN or PCC. 

Familiar with scheduling process, staffing assignments, acuity systems, and quality of care. Has developed and presented education sessions.
