Responsibilities: * Performs specific tasks as directed by the RN and other healthcare team members as identified in the PCT role. Consults and seeks out guidance from RN and/or other healthcare team members, as appropriate and when completing new or unfamiliar tasks or duties. * Tasks include but are not limited to: * Activities of Daily Living * Answering patient call lights * Assisting with simple procedures defined in the work area * Taking and recording vital signs and weights * Transporting patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens * Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment * Obtains, records and/or accurately enters data into the EMR. Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient's care. * Verbally presents factual, concise, and timely information and/or patient care data to the RN, the healthcare team, patients and/or family members in a professional manner. Qualifications: Education: * Enrolled in a formal BSN or ADN nursing program to include completion of introductory clinical nursing course with clinical component. Team members within UPH-DM may remain in Student Nurse tech role for up to 6-months after passing the board and achieving RN license. License(s)/Certification(s): * Must possess and maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire. Experience: * Completion of 1 RN clinical rotation Other: * Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
