Overview:
Graduate Princeton is seeking a reliable and hardworking Steward to support our culinary team. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in all kitchen and back-of-house areas, including dishwashing, equipment sanitation, and waste removal. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a clean, safe environment, works well in a fast-paced setting, and understands the important role they play in delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities:
* Operate dishwashing equipment to properly clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and back-of-house areas
* Ensure proper storage of clean dishes and equipment
* Remove trash, recycling, and compost in accordance with property procedures
* Sweep and mop floors, clean drains, and maintain overall sanitation standards
* Assist culinary team with basic support tasks as needed
* Follow all health, safety, and food handling guidelines
* Report maintenance or safety concerns to management promptly
* Support the team in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment
Qualifications:
* Previous steward, dishwasher, or kitchen experience preferred, but not required
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards
* Basic understanding of food safety and proper handling procedures
* Reliable attendance and punctuality
* Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
* Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly
* Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in hot, humid, and high-noise kitchen environments
* Must be authorized to work in the United States
