Join our team as a Sterile Processing Technician, where your work plays a critical role in patient safety and surgical success. In this essential position, you'll ensure that medical instruments and equipment are cleaned, prepared, and sterilized to the highest standards-supporting caregivers and improving outcomes across our community.
Responsibilities:
* Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
* Prepare and package instrument trays to meet the needs of surgical teams and patient care units
* Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards
* Collaborate closely with clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies
* Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure compliance and quality
Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
* Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
* Licensure/Certification: Sterile processing tech certification, required.
* Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competencytesting. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology.
