Responsibilities:

Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person on-site interview.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and review state income and franchise tax returns, including supporting workpapers, disclosures, estimates, and extensions across multiple jurisdictions

* Calculate, analyze, and support state apportionment factors to ensure accurate and compliant filings

* Contribute to the state income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including analysis and documentation

* Manage state tax audits, notices, and controversies by drafting responses and compiling supporting documentation

* Partner with internal accounting, finance, and legal teams, as well as external tax advisors, on complex state tax issues, planning opportunities, and transaction review

* Research state tax laws and legislative changes, maintain accurate compliance records, and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field required; Master's in Taxation or CPA certification is a plus
* 0 to 4 years of corporate state income and franchise tax experience, preferably in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm

Skills and Qualifications:

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, including working with large datasets and pivot tables

* Experience preparing and reviewing multistate corporate income/franchise tax returns and supporting documentation

* Understanding of state tax concepts such as apportionment, estimated payments, and state-specific adjustments

* Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

* Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments, external advisors, and tax authorities

* Familiarity with tax compliance and research tools (CORPTax experience a plus) and flexibility to work additional hours during peak deadlines
