Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities:

* Responsible for starting all pari-mutuel, qualifying, and schooling races
* Stay in constant communication by reporting step-by-step racing announcements with the State Commission's Presiding Judge
* Upkeep and maintenance of all starting gate equipment 
* Practice teamwork with all personnel in the racing program, including commission employees and horsemen
* Ability to work in both fast and slow paced environments 
* Responsible for training back-up starters when necessary.
* Regular and predictable attendance required and ability to work nights, weekends and holidays per Racing scheduling.

Qualifications:

* Anticipated August 1, 2025 start date
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* Minimum of two (2) year starting experience at a Pari-Mutuel track
* Must have a valid USTA Pari-mutuel Starter's License.
* Must have effective written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
