Schedule
* Part-time, two 12-hour shifts per week
* Variable hours, including nights and weekends as needed
Compensation
* Starting pay: $21.48/hour to $24.00+/hour depending on experience
What You Can Expect
* Partner with leadership to create and implement staffing plans that ensure departments are appropriately covered for daily operations
* Make timely decisions on staffing allocation, cancellations, and reassignments while following established policies and guidelines
* Collaborate with off-duty staff and unit leaders to secure coverage, ensuring all schedule adjustments are accurately documented in the electronic scheduling system
* Place calls to off-duty employees, negotiate coverage needs with unit leadership, and reallocate staff to support patient care and organizational priorities
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience in scheduling, staffing coordination, or customer service is highly desirable
Minimum Qualifications
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent
* Experience: No prior experience required-training is provided!
* Licenses/Certifications: None required
Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, the Staffing Scheduling Specialist is responsible for ensuring the department is appropriately staffed.
* Makes staff allocation/cancellation decisions in accordance with established policy and procedures relating to floating guidelines, pay practices, available/cancellation days, etc.
* Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
* Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
* Acts as a resource and educator of staff on scheduling principles and the electronic scheduling system.
* Documents all staffing adjustments in the electronic scheduling system.
* Staffing Specialists create and execute staffing plan on day-of-operation, coordinating efforts with appropriate management.
* If insufficient scheduled resources exist to meet need, Staffing Specialists make calls to off-duty staff, negotiates with units in collaboration with unit management, and reallocate resources to meet the needs of the organization.
* Scheduling Specialists create, maintain, balances and provides quality control for department specific schedules, communicating with department leadership areas of concern, and creating reports.
* Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
