Overview: GovCIO Media & Research is seeking a motivated intern to support editorial and event efforts covering federal IT, cybersecurity and emerging technologies. The intern will assist with reporting for social media, drafting short news briefs and supporting daily news coverage across digital platforms. This role includes attending industry events and briefings, conducting interviews with government and industry leaders, and helping translate complex technology topics into clear, timely content. It's a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in journalism and media production at the intersection of government and technology. This position will be remote located in the DC, MD, and VA area. Responsibilities: * Write news articles about federal IT programs, developments, issues and people. * Support the media production and news-gathering process, including * booking interviews * writing questions and descriptions * acquiring speakers * Attend, cover and network at industry events and panels. * Gather, analyze, and report on information about federal contract opportunities or business trends, and use this information to inform editorial work. * Work with other departments on editorial work, including events, design and marketing. Qualifications: Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher * Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident * Completed coursework or pursuing or a degree in the area(s) related to the internship Required Skills and Experience * Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher. * Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
