Responsibilities:

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Machinist in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position is within our Manufacturing business and located at our office in Germantown, MD.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develops machining strategies by studying, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
* CAM programming in 3 axis, 3+2, and 5 axis milling operations, as well as 2D CAM work for laser cutting sheet metal
* CAD design: Minimal CAD design for custom work holding and other parts as required
* Verify machinery settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to international standards
* Responsible for measurements, detecting malfunctions and troubleshooting processes
* Responsible for operation and maintenance of robotic machine tending for lights out manufacturing
* Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
* Maintains the shop to 5S standards
* Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
* Will work to provide technical support to Operations/Manufacturing
* Will assist in the daily/weekly/monthly production planning
* Responsible for 3D printing of prototype parts

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

* High School Diploma
* 6+ years of similar work experience (negotiable based on education and experience)
* Must be a U.S. Person (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, U.S. National or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)) as position requires access to U.S. export restricted materials

Essential Job Duties:

* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Must have CAD/CAM programming experience

Skills and Qualifications:

* Robotics knowledge
* SAP experience
* Experience in MS Office
* Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
* Familiar with SolidWorks, SolidCAM, and GrabCAD Print.

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
