				Overview:

To ensure that the hotel guest, associates, and equestrian area are maintained in a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:    

* Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and employee partners, damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency, and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.
* Know and share information about the resort and activities, demonstrate this knowledge by accurately communicating daily events, hours of operation and resort/activity information to our guests and employee partners
* Feed horses appropriately: check water buckets, mixes and apportions feed and feed supplements according to feeding instructions
* Groom horses by washing, brushing, trimming and currying horses coat to clean and improve appearance.
* Inspect horses for disease, illness, and injury while handling and grooming
* Clean horse stalls daily by mucking out stalls and replenishing with fresh sawdust.
* Guide resort guests/ members on mountain trail rides in a safe and appropriate manner.
* Responsible for overall cleanliness of the Stable area overseeing the daily cleaning of the area including stalls.
*  Oversee grooming of horses daily.
* Ensure all tack is kept in clean conditioned shape including the harness.
* Ensure all horses are tacked properly prior to leaving the Stable.
* Inform manager when supplies are low: sawdust, hay, etc.
* Assist in mounting guests on their horses as well as assisting guests onto the carriages.
* Check to determine Stables is secure when leaving at end of day. 

Tools and Equipment:

* Radio
* Computer
* Tack &/or Harness
* Pitchfork, shovel, wheelbarrow
* Tractor, Truck & Side-by-side four-wheeler

Working Environment: Stables area with exposure to weather conditions.

Qualifications:

* Previous experience working in a stable environment is required.
* Ability to supervise a team with good communication skills.
* Knowledge of horse care and stable maintenance including feeding, grooming and stall cleaning.
* Must be able and willing to stand for 8-10 hours each shift
* Must have an outgoing and positive disposition 
* Able to work flexable schedule including evenings and weekends.
