Responsibilities:
GFT is seeking an Sr. Substation Drafter to join our power group in the St. Louis, MO office. This is a hybrid position.

What you'll be challenged to do:
The successful candidate will have a desire to learn the design aspects of various substation projects from 15kV up to 500kV. You will work with our senior staff to learn and strengthen your understanding of designing utility class electrical substations.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Prepares plans and details with limited complexity in support of broader engineering activities
* Preparing schematic and wiring layouts
* Workig with our engineer to incorporate redline markups
* Works within a design group to complete projects
Qualifications:
What you will bring to our firm:
* Associated Degree or pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* 8+ years of related experience in the substation or power industry.
* Demonstrated interest in substation or power engineering through applied academic coursework, internships, or past experiences.
* Working knowledge of CADD Software
* Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
* Good written and verbal communications skills
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $35.00 - $42.00 per hour. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
