				Overview:

Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Lab Analytics organization. This position is a hybrid position and based in Goleta, California.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced software solutions for multi-angle light scattering (MALS), dynamic light scattering (DLS), field-flow fractionation (FFF), and particle analysis systems. These products are critical for characterizing macromolecules and nanoparticles in solution, serving customers in biopharmaceutical, academic, and industrial research.

You will be part of an agile team passionate about building modern informatics that improves laboratory workflows and scientific insight. This is a full stack development role requiring strong technical skills, collaboration, and a passion for scientific innovation.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

* Translate system and product requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
* Design, develop, and maintain software across the stack-from backend services to frontend interfaces.
* Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
* Participate in SCRUM and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
* Collaborate with QA and automation engineers to build robust test coverage.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and system-level issues.
* Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contractors.
* Review code and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
* Support internal and external users with documentation, training, and technical guidance.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
* 5 years of proven experience in software engineering, preferably in a regulated or scientific environment.
* Proficiency in C++, C#, .NET and object-oriented design.
* Proven understanding of multi-threading and asynchronous programming.
* Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
* Strong grasp of Agile development methodologies and TDD.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Familiarity with Python.
* Familiarity with F# or other functional programming languages.
* Familiarity with OpenCV or other computer vision libraries.
* Prior experience with scientific instrumentation software is highly desirable.

The general base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year to $141,500/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
