				Overview:

PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Sr Manager, Corporate Strategy at our Tysons, Virginia location.  The Sr. Manager, Corporate Strategy supports the development and execution of the credit union's strategic agenda by conducting market research, building analytical frameworks, and translating data into actionable insights. This role will contribute to the annual strategic planning process, competitive intelligence function, and business case development efforts. This position requires a strategic thinker who is detail-oriented, and analytically strong with a passion for financial services strategy and a track record of delivering high-quality work and recommendations in a fast-paced, executive-facing environment.

Strategic Planning & Analysis

* Contribute to the annual strategic planning process by conducting research, building models, and preparing planning materials for executive and board audiences.
* Perform market and competitive analyses examining macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies.
* Support development of multi-year strategic roadmaps and translating enterprise priorities into divisional objectives with measurable key results.
* Maintain and update strategic planning templates, frameworks, and documentation to support ongoing planning cycles.

Board & Executive Support

* Prepare draft board presentations, briefing documents, and white papers that synthesize research and analysis into clear, concise recommendations.
* Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from senior leadership, delivering accurate and well-structured outputs under tight timelines.
* Support preparation of materials for board committee meetings on topics including capital allocation, risk appetite, and strategic investments.

Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning

* Monitor the competitive landscape including traditional banks, fintechs, and non-bank competitors, producing regular intelligence reports for leadership.
* Track industry trends, consumer behavior shifts, and technological developments relevant to the credit union's strategic priorities.
* Maintain competitive benchmarking databases and peer analysis tools to support ongoing strategic assessments.

Growth Strategy, Portfolio Prioritization, & Business Development

* Support evaluation of growth initiatives across lending, deposits, digital channels, and new products by building financial models and analytical frameworks.
* Develop business cases for strategic investments, including market sizing, financial projections, and risk assessment.
* Assist in M&A and partnership screening efforts, including preliminary due diligence and financial analysis in coordination with Corporate Development

Strategy Execution & Performance Management

* Assist in building and maintaining strategic KPIs, scorecards, and dashboards to track progress against enterprise objectives.
* Partner with Finance and business unit teams to support integration of strategic priorities into annual operating plans and budgets.
* Identify and flag risks to strategic execution with supporting data and recommended mitigation options.

Thought Leadership

* Contribute research and analytical support to internal thought leadership content on strategic topics.
* Stay current on credit union industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments.
* Support onboarding and development of junior analysts on the strategy team.

Qualifications:

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

* Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field required; MBA preferred.
* Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in strategy, consulting, corporate finance, or related roles within financial services industry; credit union experience a plus
* Proven experience in financial modeling (NPV, IRR, scenario analysis) and strategic frameworks
* A self-starter, with strong analytical skills and experience in data analytics tools and strategic planning frameworks
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to distill complex analyses into clear narrative for senior audiences.
* Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Collaborative team player with strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity
* Experience in using A.I. tools preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will supervise employees.

Licenses and Certifications

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on call may be required.
