The Position: This role focuses on managing and supporting enterprise Linux systems (mainly Red Hat-based) in a production environment. It involves troubleshooting system and network issues, working with servers, DNS, and TCP/IP, and ensuring overall system reliability.We are looking for someone with a strong Linux background, hands-on troubleshooting experience, and the ability to work independently in complex environments. Responsibilities: * Design, manage, and support enterprise Linux environments with a focus on Red Hat-based distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux) and Debian-based systems. * Administer and troubleshoot complex Linux systems operating within large-scale, networked enterprise environments. * Manage and optimize core infrastructure services including DNS, TCP/IP networking, routing, and switching. * Deploy, configure, and maintain web servers (Apache, Nginx) and application servers (Tomcat, JBoss). * Work with configuration management and infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef. * Support infrastructure in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) where applicable. * Troubleshoot system, network, and application-level issues using command-line tools and diagnostics. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, performance, and security. * Contribute to secure handling of media/content workflows and ensure compliance with relevant security and audit standards (e.g., ISO, data privacy). * Perform system-level research, analysis, and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, and reliability. * Work with physical server hardware and infrastructure components where required. What We're Looking For: * 5-8 years of experience in Linux system administration with strong expertise in enterprise environments. * Deep knowledge of Red Hat-based Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux); familiarity with Debian-based systems is a plus. * Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, and troubleshooting in distributed environments. * Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. * Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. * Hands-on experience with web servers (Apache, Nginx) and application servers (Tomcat, JBoss). * Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python, or similar. * Understanding of data formats and serialization (JSON, YAML, XML). * Exposure to open-source databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL is a plus. * Experience working with server hardware and physical infrastructure is desirable. * Awareness of security practices, audits, and compliance standards related to data/media handling is a plus. * Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex system and network issues. * Ability to work proactively, take ownership, and operate with minimal supervision. * Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments. Qualifications: * BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math or similar field strongly preferred. * Minimum of 5 years directly relevant experience is required with a BS or MS degree, or 7 years without BS or MS degree, as listed above.
