				Overview:

Join a dynamic and innovative team at Waters Corporation, where science and precision meet to advance the quality and reliability of critical analytical technologies. As a Sr. Chemical Process Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing and optimizing complex chemical and surface treatment processes-including passivation, microtubing, and advanced coating operations-in a collaborative, high-performance manufacturing environment. You'll be empowered to lead cross-functional initiatives that drive product quality, process robustness, and operational efficiency across a rapidly evolving technology platform.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the design, development, and optimization of chemical manufacturing processes including passivation, microtubing cleaning, electropolishing, and MVD (Molecular Vapor Deposition) coating.

* Drive process improvements to enhance product quality, consistency, and throughput while reducing variation, scrap, and cycle time.

* Develop and execute validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), process capability (CPK) analysis, and risk assessments (PFMEA) for new and existing processes.

* Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Maintenance teams to support scale-up, technology transfer, and troubleshooting of critical surface treatment operations.

* Provide subject matter expertise for chemical handling, waste stream treatment, and safety compliance in accordance with EH&S and cGMP/ISO standards.

* Lead and support root cause investigations (RCPS, 5-Whys, DMAIC) for process deviations and nonconformances, driving effective CAPA implementation.

* Author technical reports, work instructions, control plans, and standard operating procedures to ensure robust and compliant documentation.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).

* Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment, preferably in medical device, semiconductor, or high-precision industries.

* Deep expertise in surface treatment processes such as passivation, electropolishing, chemical cleaning, or thin film coating (e.g., MVD, CVD, ALD).

* Strong knowledge of process validation, statistical process control, and process safety (HAZOP, FMEA, GHS).

* Proficient in using analytical tools such as Minitab, JMP, or equivalent for DOE and capability analysis.

* Experience working in ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

* Excellent cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills in fast-paced, high-standards settings.
