At Hayward, our mission is to deliver exceptional products and innovative technology that transform the water experience. We're seeking an Advanced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in designing and developing cutting-edge electronic and electromechanical products.
In this role, you'll own projects from concept to manufacturing release, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative, industry-leading pool controls, electronics, and assemblies. Your expertise will drive advancements in power and control for products like robotic cleaners, smart heaters, variable-speed pumps, and automation systems.

Responsibilities:
1. Investigative Problem-Solving
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues in new and existing electrical products and systems.
* Develop requirements and evaluate technical solutions for new platforms and tools.
2. Design Ownership
* Drive innovative consumer product development from concept to launch.
* Lead design reviews, optimize PCB layouts, and specify components for robust designs.
3. Test, Validate, and Launch
* Create and execute test plans to validate designs, ensuring industry compliance (HALT, EMC/EMI, UL, CE).
* Partner with manufacturing teams for smooth production launches.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration
* Work with firmware, mechanical, and system architects to create cohesive product architectures.
* Maintain detailed technical documentation and communicate design strategies effectively.
5. Continuous Learning
* Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies through conferences, research, and side projects.
Qualifications:
What You Bring:
* Experience: 6-8+ years in electrical design and product development.
* Skills:
* Proficiency with schematic capture tools (Altium, KiCad, or Eagle) and PCB layout.
* Knowledge of 3-phase BLDC motor drives, embedded systems, microcontrollers, and analog/digital circuitry.
* Familiarity with safety standards, EMC, and environmental compliance.
* Understanding of mechanical/thermal/packaging design for industrial electronics.
* Attributes: Self-driven with a strong commitment to meeting project deadlines.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 8+ years of relevant experience. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred.
