SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Fenton, a Level I Time Critical Diagnosis STEMI Center and a Level I Stroke Center, serves the medical needs of the expanding community in southwest St. Louis County. Specializing in heart and vascular, neurosciences, cancer care, maternity and other medical services, SSM Health St. Clare makes your health and wellness a primary focus.

Speech Therapy is compromised in a regional unit, requiring all SLPs to be competent and available to work across both acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings. This allows for a breadth of knowledge for our patients and also, increased coverage based on census and hospital needs. Teamwork and individualized, compassionate patient care provide a basis for learning and professional development in a community hospital atmosphere.  Therapy is provided in the areas of orthopedics, cardiopulmonary, neurology, oncology, general medicine and surgery.  

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in (acute care or inpatient rehab). 

Experience performing Modified Barium Swallows (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES) independently is required.

Responsibilities:

* Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient's need and physician direction.
* Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline specific therapy services for those assigned patients. 
* Ensures design of functional treatment programs allowing for effective return to community activities. 
* Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, coworkers and self. 
* Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline specific therapy services and design of program delivery.

Qualifications:

* Current state llicense or eligibility for state license as a Speech Language Pathologist 
* Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.
* Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
* Experience performing Modified Barium Swallows (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES) independently 
* Minimum of two years of experience in (acute care or inpatient rehab)
