Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

* Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and related software in a mission-critical environment to ensure high availability and performance
* Troubleshoot RF, software, system, and network issues, escalating to senior technical resources when necessary
* Provide expert technical support to spacecraft operations and spacecraft engineering teams, addressing both routine and complex system inquiries
* Communicate clearly and proactively with team members regarding system issues, updates, and resolutions
* Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide support outside of standard business hours
* Generate and present regular reports (weekly/monthly) on system performance, issue tracking, and project status
* Support and mentor junior team members in system and network administration tasks and projects
* Utilize diagnostic tools, including spectrum analyzers, to monitor and troubleshoot RF components of the ground system
* Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of critical systems, tools, and processes to serve as a primary administrator for key infrastructure
* Develop, document, and implement clear procedures for routine system tasks, and provide training to relevant staff
* Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of broadcast operations, DISH technologies, and the mission of the Spacecraft Operations Center
* Perform effectively in high-pressure environments, collaborating within a cohesive team and consistently adhering to established policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
* Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows and Linux (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, or similar distributions) system administration within an enterprise or mission-critical environment
* Spacecraft operations experience is preferred but not required

Skills and Qualifications:

* Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), CompTIA Security+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
* Advanced knowledge of system administration tools, office productivity software, and mission-critical IT infrastructure
* Strong understanding of core networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security best practices
* Proven experience managing virtualized environments using VMware/Broadcom vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Ominssa Horizon
* Proficiency in configuring and managing network storage solutions, including NAS, DFS, and NFS
* Experience with RF systems monitoring and troubleshooting techniques
* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automating routine system administration tasks
* Highly self-motivated and capable of independently driving the resolution of complex technical issues through hands-on expertise, ensuring efficient and effective outcomes
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reports, correspondence, and technical documentation
* Ability to comprehend and interpret technical procedures, government regulations, and business documents
* Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including the application of basic algebra and geometry
* Experience working within secure, compliance-driven, high-uptime environments
* Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior staff through knowledge sharing and training
* Proven ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple high-priority projects independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
* U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) status is required
* This position involves work in standard office settings and equipment data centers, with potential exposure to electrical shock, radiation, vibration, and elevated noise levels from computer equipment
* Regularly required to walk, sit, use hand-eye coordination, handle computer hardware, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, speak, hear, and detect odors
* Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
