Responsibilities:
The Solution Engineering Operating Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational execution and continuous improvement of solution engineering teams. This role ensures that pre-sales and post-sales engineering solutions are delivered efficiently, align with customer needs, and adhere to strategic business goals. The manager will coordinate with sales, product management, R&D, and customer support to streamline operations, improve customer satisfaction and grow Aerospace Defense business.
* Operational Leadership:
* Lead and manage solution engineering operations across multiple projects and regions.
* Develop and implement standard operating procedures to drive consistency and quality.
* Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to ensure operational excellence.
* Strategic Planning:
* Collaborate with leadership to define the strategic direction of the solution engineering function.
* Align operational activities with business goals, focusing on scalability and efficiency.
* Project Oversight:
* Oversee the execution of complex technical solutions, from proposal to delivery.
* Ensure resource allocation aligns with project priorities and deadlines.
* Process Improvement:
* Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to increase team efficiency.
* Introduce tools and systems to automate and optimize engineering workflows.
* Cross-functional Collaboration:
* Work closely with sales, product, and R&D teams to align solutions with customer needs and product capabilities.
* Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Team Management:
* Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of solution engineers and technical leads.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and professional development.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
* 8-12 years of experience in solution engineering, technical consulting, or operations management.
* Proven leadership and team management experience.
* Strong understanding of solution lifecycle management and technical project delivery.
* Experience with Aerospace Defense market and applications is a plus.
* Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Familiarity with enterprise software or test and measurement technologies
* Experience working in a global/matrixed organization.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
* Knowledge of CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP).
