An exciting opportunity has opened for a Software Engineer.

Our UK-based IT team are looking for an ambitious, forward-thinking software engineer to help us develop innovative solutions across our software products, in all aspects of the product lifecycle - from product inception to production delivery. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who is interested in exploring software technologies throughout the full stack and who will contribute to delivering business-critical applications for our customers and business users.

This role will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic software development department, helping to deliver capabilities to the European business as part of a globalised IT team within a highly successful Rental Company. Responsibilities:

* Achieve solid understanding of existing application landscape in Europe.

* Collaborate with technical and business colleagues for requirements gathering, development and testing of changes.
* Use software engineering experience to maintain operational processes and applications; resolve production issues promptly in conjunction with local first-line support team and local development team.
* Deadline and delivery focused
* Assist with the identification and implementation of opportunities to automate or streamline existing processes to simplify maintenance activities and improve overall reliability and efficiency.
* Assist with the creation and maintenance of product documentation for existing and new applications.
* Protect our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions and daily job responsibilities; follow security policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge of .NET / SQL web applications and web services.

* Knowledge of standard .NET development tools such as TFS, Visual Studio, Azure and SQL Server.

* Experience with technologies such as C# .NET, XML, RESTful services, JSON, React, material-ui, Entity Framework, Visual Studio Code, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
* Azure would be beneficial

* Desirable: Exposure to QA practices such as Unit Testing, Peer Testing, Defect fixing and tracking to resolution.
* Desirable: Worked in an Agile software development team.
* Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3 years + of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Hours - 40 per week

Salary - Competitive

Location: This is a permanent role in the European IT team based in Egham, Surrey, though can be performed remotely from any UK location. If remote working is chosen, successful candidate will be expected to travel to Egham office at own expense approximately once a quarter in addition to any specific events as agreed in advance.
