Responsibilities:
Enterprise Technology (ET) is looking for a Software Engineer - Mainframe to join the Life Accounting product team. You will work closely with business partners to develop, test, implement, and support creative solutions for State Farms Life company operations which entails support for over 8 million policies in force.The team is an agile team that owns and supports State Farms Life company processing of accounting transactions, income tax and premium tax reporting at both the state and federal levels of the Life company policies.This work includes the processing of data necessary to file various returns with regulatory bodies and servicing transactions needed for the insured or policyowner. Life Legacy Systems are currently written in Assembler and Cobol programming languages, so this skill is a must.
Qualifications:
Candidates will need to have recent 3+ years experience with the following:
* Assembler (within past 3 years)
* Cobol (within past 3 years)
* JCL (within past 3 years)
* DB2
* SAS
* Experience or exposure working with Debugging tool like IBM Developer for z/OS(r) (IDz)
* Experience or exposure working with GITLAB, managing repositories, push/pull/merge code requests.
* Knowledge of CI/CD practices and version controls
* Proficiency with version control systems like Git
* CICS (Nice to have)
* AWS/Cloud Computing
There is not active work in the AWS space at this time; however, the team will quickly be moving in that direction as we evaluate Cloud Solutions for our Legacy data.
