Overview:
CHI Health treats cancer patients through the CHI Health Henry Lynch Cancer Center. One of their main priorities is to provide the utmost care for patients and their families. Their cancer center provides patients with a strong team of expert oncologists, radiation oncologists and cancer nurse navigators. Together, the patient's medical care team will create a treatment plan specific to the patient's cancer diagnosis.

Are you passionate about supporting patients and families through some of life's most challenging moments? We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and clinically skilled Oncology Social Worker to join our cancer care team. In this role, you will provide psychosocial support, advocacy, education, and resource coordination for oncology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
As a valued member of an interdisciplinary team, you will help patients navigate emotional, social, financial, and practical challenges related to cancer treatment while contributing to a patient-centered culture of care and healing.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments for oncology patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings
* Deliver evidence-based clinical interventions to address emotional, behavioral, social, and financial concerns
* Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, navigators, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to support holistic patient care
* Review psychosocial distress screenings and follow up with patients identified through established screening parameters
* Coordinate referrals to community resources, financial assistance programs, counseling services, hospice, survivorship resources, and other supportive services
* Document assessments, interventions, referrals, and outcomes in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
* Assist with data collection and reporting related to psychosocial distress screening and patient support initiatives
* Develop and facilitate support groups, educational programs, and wellness initiatives tailored to the needs of oncology patients and caregivers
* Provide education and consultation to clinical staff regarding the psychosocial impact of cancer on patients, families, and caregivers
* Offer support and guidance to staff members experiencing personal or family cancer-related challenges
* Participate in oncology-related committees, quality initiatives, and professional development activities
* Support departmental and organizational goals through additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
* Current social work licensure in applicable state (LMSW, LCSW, or equivalent preferred)
* Experience in oncology, medical social work, hospice, palliative care, or behavioral health preferred
* Strong clinical assessment, crisis intervention, and counseling skills
* Knowledge of community resources, financial assistance programs, and supportive care services
* Excellent communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
* Ability to manage sensitive conversations with empathy, professionalism, and cultural humility
