Service Line Administrator (PFK)

Monday - Friday 8a - 5p. 

Full time, benefits eligible, salary-exempt

Works with the Partners For Kids (PFK) Medical Director and VP of clinical integration to develop and implement a comprehensive service line infrastructure.  Works closely with physicians, clinical staff, administrative staff and various other ancillary and support functions to coordinate the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of all activities and programs associated with 5 service lines including Healthy Children, Medical Complexity, Chronic Conditions, Women's and Infant, and Behavioral Health.  Activities involve, but not limited to, project management, physician practice activities, coordination of population health projects, operations management, capital and operating budget oversight, research activities, new service development, and customer service initiatives.

Responsibilities:

* Works closely with VP of clinical operations, other managers and administrators, and other organizational departments to develop and implement plans for the successful operation and growth of the service lines. 
* Assists the VP of clinical operations in establishing annual performance metrics for the service lines including research, clinical, financial, service, and similar metrics.  
* Collaborates with nursing, social work and other areas within direct supervision, to meet the goals of the service lines.
* Ensures coordination and alignment of clinical activities for those operational areas which fall outside of the SLA's direct responsibility (from the patient/family/physician perspective) that are consistent with the plans of the service line.
* Works closely with the Information Services, Managed Care and similar corporate support areas to develop and implement service line plans and activities.
* Facilitates change management and leads/manages major projects/initiatives such as operational restructuring, new service development and major capital projects.
* Coordinates the leaders of the five service lines to achieve the key goals and objectives of PFK population health and care coordination activities.
* Facilitates PFK engagement in external learning collaboratives including those at the state and managed care organizations.   
* Facilitates and recommends annual operating and capital budgets for service line activities.
* Collaborates and consults with medical and hospital personnel at all levels, both internally and externally, for the development and coordination of services.
* Interviews, hires, mentors, evaluates, counsels, and when necessary, discharges subordinate supervisory personnel.
* Assists in developing effective policies and procedures, developing appropriate goals, and resolving complex managerial problems.  
* Initiates, promotes, and stimulates the continuous performance improvement process to improve clinical, service, administrative, educational, and customer service outcomes.
* Collaborates with PFK business services as needed to coordinate payer relations, financial management, data analytics/reporting, marketing and other administrative functions for clinical service lines. 
* Shares in responsibility for assuring that assigned departments/programs are compliant with all accrediting bodies such as NCQA and ODH, that appropriate quality assurance programs are in place, and that departments/programs are in compliance with the Hospital Corporate Integrity Program.
* Works closely with the VP to support and coordinate physician and leadership recruitment and retention.
* Responsible for the professional development and standard practice of the project managers within the clinical services teams at PFK.
* Coordinates with the PFK QI coaches and team lead to ensure adequate support to the clinical service line teams and projects.  
* Takes responsibility for other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

* Requires a level of knowledge equivlent to what is typically obtained by completing a Master's degree program in Nursing, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field. 

SKILLS & EXERIENCE:

* Between seven and ten years of progressive experience including opportunities to demonstrate substantial understanding of healthcare administration, patient care delivery, and application of sound management principles and practices.
* Previous management or leadership experience in a complex setting preferably.
* Experience in population health management is highly desirable.
* Previous experience in a pediatric or child health related area desirable.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: OCCASIONALLY: 1-33% OF THE TIME (0.5 TO 2.5 HOURS) bend/twist, squat, kneel, climb stairs/ladder, flexing/extending of neck, reaching above shoulder, lifting 21-40 lbs, exposure to: communicable diseases and/or pathogens, fumes/gases/vapors, biohazard waste, machinary, and loud noises. FREQUENTLY: 34-66% OF THE TIME (2.6 TO 5.0 HOURS) sitting, hand use, pushing up to 60lbs, depth perception, exposure to: blood and/or body fluids, chemicals/medication. CONTINUOUSLY: 67-100% OF THE TIME(5.1-12 HOURS) standing, walking, repetitive hand/arm use, computer skills, lifting up to 20 lbs, audible speech, hearing acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, problem solving, decision making, interpreting data, exposure to: patient equipment and electricity.
