				Overview:

The Senior Underwriter administers the underwriting of new business submissions for agencies within their assigned territory. Completes work in compliance with company underwriting, authority, and pricing standards. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities:

* Write a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing and servicing. Maintains compliance with state filings and adheres to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines. Operate within written authority grant and makes referrals to management and Home Office Underwriting as required.
* Collaborate closely with Underwriting, Sales, and support teams.
* Partner with Territory Management to develop and implement the territory business plan and share accountability with team in meeting goals.
* Take initiative with the team to develop, manage, and maintain outside client relationships which will include traveling within the territory to meet with assigned agencies and related organizations. Actively participate in industry events as required, such as but not limited to agency or association conventions.
* Exhibit professional, timely, and courteous communication and service to external clients and internal staff.
* Provide the pertinent information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines
* Assist in gathering and communicating competitive information.
* Maintain current knowledge of market trends and demands.
* Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

* Demonstrated experience with and expert technical knowledge of workers compensation, commercial property, casualty, automobile, and umbrella insurance coverage and risk selection, methods and pricing.
* 5+ years of commercial lines property and casualty experience.
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
* Ability to travel including overnight stays within the assigned territory as needed.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze data and make an informed, calculated decision.

Preferred: 

* CPCU, AU, CIC, or other industry designations preferred
* Ability to train, coach and mentor individuals of various backgrounds within area of expertise

The expected salary range for this role is $92,000-$130,000 annually
