Overview:
GovCIO is currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer with an active Secret clearance to support a federal customer's goals of modernizing and transforming their IT environment to efficiently deliver new technologies to their workforce. This position will be located in Springfield, VA, and will be a hybrid position.
Responsibilities:
As a desktop engineer, you'll work closely with a team of engineers to evaluate, design, implement, and support physical and virtualized desktop, laptop, and server systems to meet Government-approved requirements. You will engage security teams to define and implement policies based on best practices. The candidate must possess excellent communication and writing skills and be an effective communicator in a team environment.
Responsibilities
* Develop and analyze requirements and use cases.
* Evaluate and analyze products and solutions that meet approved requirements.
* Prepare architecture diagrams to illustrate how solutions will integrate into an existing infrastructure.
* Plan, design, build, and test on-premises or cloud-based solutions.
* Plan and transition solutions from lab to production environments.
* Apply DISA STIGs and other security policies by using automated tools.
* Prepare and articulate system architecture and data flow diagrams.
* Document design, implementation, and administration procedures.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
Qualifications:
High School with 10+ years of systems engineering (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
* 5+ years of hands-on desktop integration and engineering experience implementing on-premises or cloud-based solutions from concept through deployment.
* Experience working within Azure Government Cloud and Azure Virtual Desktop.
* Proficient with Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy Management, Office 365/Teams, and Windows 11 OS.
* Proficient in Desktop Management and Deployment systems, including SCCM, Workspace ONE, Intune, and BigFix.
* Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Citrix and VMWare.
* Must be proficient in PowerShell scripting and able to use it effectively.
* Experience in analyzing, implementing, and testing security standards from NIST and DISA.
* Demonstrated experience with performing advanced troubleshooting, conducting root cause analysis, and developing corrective action plans.
* Knowledge of SAFe or other Agile methodologies is a nice-to-have.
* Excellent communication and writing skills and be an effective communicator in a team environment.
* Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.
