We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Hingham, MA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing buildings and will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of structural engineering solutions for a variety of projects. This position requires a thorough understanding of structural analysis, design principles, and building codes.
Responsibilities:
* Perform engineering calculations with the aid of computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations.
* Create structural design plans and details in AutoCAD and Revit.
* Coach and Mentor more junior staff.
* Perform site visits, make observations of ongoing construction progress, and survey the structural components of existing buildings.
* Coordinate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines.
* Review shop drawings and respond to RFI's.
* Perform QA/QC related tasks.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited University.
* P.E. required.
* 10+ years of professional structural engineering experience required.
* AutoCAD proficiency required.
* Proficient in Revit required.
* Possess an intermediate to advanced understanding of structural design software such RISA, RAM, TEKLA, TEDDS, SAFE, PROFIS, etc. with a willingness to learn and adapt to new software.
* A willingness to learn and adapt to new software and client needs.
* Understanding of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design principles.
* Knowledge of current building and material design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE7, AISC360, ACI318, ACI 530 or NDS.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills.
* Able to work independently and also collaboratively on a team.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
