The Senior Staff Accountant reports directly to the Corporate Controller and will also have significant interaction with other members of the Accounting, Finance and Operational Accounting teams. Responsibilities: Responsibilities: * Participate in monthly financial statement preparation * Maintain and reconcile key general ledger accounts * Coordinate with Treasury Analyst to ensure all daily cash activity is recorded * Prepare Intercompany billings * Generate various monthly corporate allocations * Audit and approve employee expense reports * Manage and maintain vendor records * Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax filings * Participate in annual audit preparation and analyses * Enter AP invoices and obtain required invoice approvals from management, including research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues * Ad hoc assignments as needed * Participate in monthly system closes Qualifications: Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Advanced degree a plus. * Minimum of two years of related experience * Skills with General Ledger, working knowledge of GAAP Accounting Principles * Strong problem-solving skills * Attention to detail is a must * Oracle experience a plus Personal Characteristics * Self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines * Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate important issues * Dedicated and hard working team player * Share Suffolk's core values: Courageously Driven, Find A Way, Endlessly Curious and People Above All
