Responsibilities:
As a talented and passionate member of an energetic Agile team, the Solutions Engineer IV will build high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications, while providing expertise in all areas of full stack development. Progression with demonstrated knowledge of additional software frameworks as well as knowledge of multiple areas within Brookdale. The Solutions Engineer IV will be a self-starter that demonstrates excellent communication and problem solving skills with a focus on customer service, mentoring associates and ensuring products meet or exceed operational requirements. The Solutions Engineer IV will collaboratively participate in all areas of delivery from analysis, development, configuration, testing, implementation and support of software applications.
* Analyze, design, develop, test, document, and implement new and existing applications and solutions do deliver high quality, scalable solutions to meet business objectives and operational requirements.
* Drive application/architecture design and development reviews as appropriate to ensure working within appropriate technology/standards.
* Assist in the change management process, including presentations and approvals in the change management process, and adherence to the defined change management guidelines. This includes actively working to improve the change management process. Mentor and train team members on the change management process.
* Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support business objectives and continual improvement of team dynamics. Work to implement ideas to improve the development environment, best practices and team dynamics.
* Promote the identification and resolution of application and technical issues (monitor sustainability, issue identification and resolution) enabling the optimization of uptime of application and operational support. Focus on elimination of reoccurrences by conducting root cause analysis and identifying remediation strategy.
* Actively participates in continuous learning of technology, understands its applicability to solve business objectives, designs and implements solutions where appropriate. Stay up to date on emerging technologies and industry trends. Maintain external relationships to develop state of the art knowledge in emerging technologies and to stay abreast of the latest thinking in technology arenas. Mentors team members on best practices for new technologies.
* Expert ability to adapt to, create and implement different technology interfaces, platforms and frameworks and mentor team members.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or other related area, or equivalent experience is required. Minimum 5 years of related experience is required. 7 years of information systems experience, including 4 years of experience directly developing enterprise-grade applications is preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements
Relevant technical certifications are preferred.
Management/Decision Making
Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within the Agile Team. Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent, example, reasonableness or a combination of these. Knows when to refer issues to supervisor and when to handle them personally.
Knowledge and Skills
* Expert experience with database technologies and CRUD concepts. Expert in database design and tuning for solutions that require creative investigation and evaluation of alternative architectural solutions.
* Advanced experience with unit, integration and acceptance testing. Drives maximizing application test coverage. Expertise with unit testing packages and concepts, automated testing and TDD. Drives integration of TDD and automated testing into processes.
* Expert experience using Application design patterns and mentoring team members on their use and appropriate selection criteria.
* Modifies and creates design patterns.
* Successful experience working in an Agile team environment, preferably Scrum, as an actively involved team member. Mentoring other team members in Agile process. Has obtained at least one Agile certification.
* Supportive of team members and other teams through effective collaboration. Positive influence on peers and technical staff within the team. Collaborates with internal customers and work teams across departments utilizing exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills. Leads cross functional teams of a diverse set of individuals. Mentors team members on collaboration, verbal, written and presentation skills.

* Exceptional mastery in multiple languages and databases with and a passion to learn anything you don't know. Mentors others and serves as a SME to team members.
* Proven knowledge of multiple major business areas within Brookdale and ability to articulate business personas and the operational flows for those areas of the organization. Understands the business as well as our customers. Supports Product Owner and Team in understanding of business areas. Mentors others in business process. Collaborates with business to improve processes and operational flows.
