Job Summary:
The Senior Scheduling Manager manages and supports schedule efforts on multiple projects within an office/region or a single large project team. In addition to supporting the Regional Scheduling Director and/or Regional Operations Manager, the Senior Scheduling Manager assists in facilitating compliance with corporate scheduling standards resulting in transparency of project conditions and assures the timely completion of projects and profitability. Expertise in Oracle P6 scheduling software is required. The position also requires a strong knowledge of scheduling techniques and claims techniques. Should possess strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, strong communication, and customer service skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Leads scheduling efforts for project/office/region and balances demand and tasks for multiple projects.
* Assists with implementing national strategies and initiatives within assigned project/office/region.
* Oversees all scheduling deliverables.
* Supports claim efforts relating to contract changes and delays.
* Participates in national group calls as required.
* Oversees schedule system troubleshooting and is the recognized P6 expert within the office.
* Analyzes scheduling metrics and produces accurate and objective schedule duration calculations.
* Manages and mentors schedulers within assigned project/office/region.
* Oversees all stages of project level planning and scheduling including proposal schedules, baseline setups, and updated within assigned project/office/region.
* Participates in marketing/business development pursuit opportunities.
* Tracks receipts of subcontractor schedules and reviews the schedules for compliance.
* Participates in the review of changes and preparation of project cost events.
* Participates in project peer review and kick off meetings.
* Participates in monthly project reviews.
* Performs in-person schedule reviews at the project sites.
* Evaluates schedule impacts and work with the team on any notice requirements.
* Confirms submittal schedule and ensures CPM schedule is tracking all long lead items.
* Supports Preconstruction by developing proposal schedules.

Education and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
* 8+ years of experience scheduling
* 8+ years of experience building a schedule and performing updates for construction projects
* 4+ years of experience with Primavera Software
* 4+ years of experience in schedule core standards\
* 4+ years of experience assessing work/quantity in place
* Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management or Engineering or 8 years of equivalent experience and a minimum of 7 years prior relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Claim management experience
* Strong computer knowledge and efficiency, including scheduling software (P6 experience is a plus)
* Strong understanding of construction and general industry
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong collaborator that works with all levels of our organization and project sites to be a resource
* Basic math/statistic & accounting skills
* Dependable and able to travel to jobsites throughout the local office geography

Competencies / Skills:
Has advanced knowledge in
Building and Construction Knowledge: Applies building and construction knowledge, including history, customers, competitive environment, and materials and methods to build quality projects.
Plans and Specifications: Reads and interprets architectural / structural plans and other design documents to understand the project scope, phasing, logistics, constraints, and different components of the project.
Scheduling Tools & Software: Utilizes Skanska standard scheduling tools and technology to develop manage and analyze project schedules.
Has demonstrated proficency in
Contract Management: Reviews the terms of the client's prime contract as well as subcontracts and vendor agreements with special focus on scheduling-specific clauses to implement the contractual requirements in the scheduling process and provides input to the project team as necessary.
Schedule Development: Develops bid / proposal and detailed contractual schedules by defining the work breakdown structure, establishing activities, calculating durations based on estimates and production rates, establishing logic, defining critical paths, and analyzing and adjusting schedule to meet contractual requirements.
Schedule Management: Monitors project progress by walking jobsites, gathering schedule update information from project teams, facilitating schedule update meetings, participating in owner's meetings, and communicating schedule update, reports and analysis to project stakeholders.
Schedule Resource and Cost Management: Utilizes the schedule of values to implement cost/revenue loading and earned value processes, throughout the project lifecycle, in adherence to client's/projects requirements, and prepares reports and required analysis.
Scheduling Reports: Maintains required standard scheduling processes needed to feed data to scheduling dashboards and reporting tools. Utilizes reports to track and communicate active project status through standard KPIs and metrics, and benchmarks against historical data.
Risk and Opportunity Management: Collaborates with the project team to identify risks and opportunities, assess potential impact to schedule, and support the development of mitigation/improvement strategies.
Client Facing Skills: Presents and demonstrates the merits of our scheduling work and other consultative advice we are providing to clients and other project stakeholders, building trust and confidence.
Conflict/Dispute Resolution: Handles conflicts and de-escalates disputes between parties. Negotiates resolutions that are agreeable to both parties.
Lean Principles and Tools: Implements Lean principles and tools including facilitating interactive planning sessions with project stakeholders and coaching the project team through make ready planning, weekly work planning and daily huddles.
Schedule Delays and Impacts: Assesses, incorporates, and communicates the impacts of project changes and other unforeseen events on the project schedule while following the project specifications and contract requirements. This includes creating schedule fragnets, conducting time impact analysis, window analysis and other forms of forensic analyses to evaluate and identify root causes for project delays.
Scheduling Training & Coaching: Educates and guides project teams to implement the standards and coaches the team in following and complying with Skanska scheduling processes.
Has basic understanding of:
Scheduling Standards: Develops and implements Skanska Scheduling Core Training, standards and processes. Ensures national/regional compliance with established output goals and benchmarks.
