Overview:
As a Senior Research Engineer you will drive invention and innovation. Deliver and shape differentiated offerings for company's Priority markets. Develop new technologies and platforms and translate into new strategic growth opportunities. Highlight promising ways to reposition the business through disruptive breakthroughs.
Location- ***Role is required to be onsite in Morris Plains, NJ office (Hybrid- Minimum of 3 days in the office per week).
Responsibilities:
* Develops scoping experiments to demonstrate idea feasibility, summarize results and provide rationale for next steps
* Develop appropriate experimentation and formulations, trials, testing and characterization requirements, analyses, and other tasks to support project needs. Provide recommendations for next steps
* Develop appropriate R&D experimental design, trials, testing, recommendations to support other BU stakeholders and contribute to overall business improvements and growth
* Communicating the invention disclosure submission process and engage appropriately with legal team for patent filings. Recommend and identify developments better captured as Trade Secrets
* Maintain an organized and tidy workspace to promote efficiency and a safe environment . Identify and recommend specific equipment or capability required for job execution. Embrace and promote a diverse and inclusive culture
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required with 10+ years of experience OR a master's degree with 5+ years of experience.
* Research and Development (R&D) experience
* Electrical Engineering technology, electronics engineering, electrical engineer, or a related engineering field experience
* Experience in wireless systems/protocols (BLE, WiFi, RFID, UWB, etc)
* Experience with microcontrollers and SoCs embedded processors
Preferred Qualifications:
* Proven experience in circuit systematics- layout design and prototyping
* Background in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical engineering
* Experience and familiar with programming languages; C, C++, Python and Firmware coding
* Testing and development experience
* Sensor development-integration consumer experience
* Independent, Self-Starter, Curious, Problem Solver, Analytical, Collaborative
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
