Regulatory & Scientific Affairs is integral to bringing new products to market as quickly as possible while ensuring ingredients and packaging materials are safe for use in, or in contact with, food and beverages. We help ensure products remain fully compliant with applicable local regulations throughout their lifecycle1from development through the time they are on shelf and available to consumers. By enabling compliant, science-based claims, labeling, and advertising, the function protects consumers and the business while supporting KDP's competitive edge. 

The primary role of the Senior Regulatory Affairs Analyst is to ensure regulatory compliance and support the launch of our marketed products, as well as post-market regulatory surveillance. This position is responsible for developing label copy for marketed products in the form of LIN development (Label Information Notes), including required product label text, claims, and nutrition information. The analyst also monitors and interprets relevant government and technical information impacting our brands, develops finished-product regulatory specifications, and provides regulatory guidance to business partners and cross-functional project teams. 

Job Responsibilities:  

* Analyze product formulations and provide nutrition, ingredient and all other US or Canadian mandated labeling content by working cooperatively with R&D Scientists, Marketing, and Regulatory colleagues for Retail and Food Service channels. 

* Review and approve all product labeling to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, and/or market authorizations, where applicable. 

* Review and approve formulations and ingredients for compliance with the laws governed by USDA, FDA, Health Canada, CFIA. 

* Provide Regulatory Support for launch of new products by reviewing briefing documents and labeling for consumer studies and new products and/or claims.  

* Ensure appropriate scientific support of all product claims to obtain the most competitive labeling possible.  

* Monitor Regulatory environment and be aware of changes to regulatory environment and participate in industry trade associations.  

* Identify impact of regulatory changes on products. Provide regulatory or technical information on our products or regulatory initiatives to external, and internal customers (i.e. Marketing, Legal, R&D)  

* Support resolution of competitive complaints from and to regulatory authorities and competitors, under the direction of the manager/director, legal and marketing.  

* Identify and provide resolution to strategic and tactical regulatory issues pertaining to food labeling.  

* Manage complex cross-functional projects to deliver against regulatory initiatives.  

* Provide periodic updates to the Manager of Regulatory Affairs on project initiatives, planning and execution; business goals and objectives, in order to ensure alignment with Manager, for areas of responsibility.  

* Manage all paper and electronic files and information management databases for responsible areas. 

* Support the regulatory group in, improving and complementing systems, processes, tools to enhance effectiveness and efficiencies of the RA department. 

* Build liaisons within division/departments on local and global levels.  

Responsibilities:

* University degree in a scientific field (B.S., Food Science, Biology Chemistry Toxicology, Nutrition,) required. M.S. Preferred.  

* A minimum of 5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs of a Consumer Products Company. 

* Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 

* Strong ability to build collaborative relationships 

* Strong multi-task project management skills.   

* Ability to prioritize and coordinate independently, with a great degree of flexibility.   

* High level of attention to detail required 

* Strong Communication and Influence Skills and External Presence Skills 

* Good knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, MS Access, Optiva, GENESIS).
