Overview:
Merrick & Company's Nuclear Services & Technology team provides full service nuclear design solutions to the federal government (DOE, NNSA and NIST), nuclear research, nuclear medicine, and the commercial nuclear power industries. Merrick is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to serve as a Program Manager to support our operations in Aiken, SC, Los Alamos, NM, and Greenwood Village, CO.
Merrick has some very exciting projects including design of specialty equipment for the National Nuclear Security Administration and Department of Energy. With our success in winning some large, complex, and exciting projects, we need a strong Program Manager accustomed to a regulated work environment with discipline, ingenuity, motivation and skills to lead a multi-disciplined team of engineers and designers. Merrick is seeking candidates who have technical and project management experience with design and construction of nuclear/hazardous facility systems, structures and components with an emphasis on confinement of radioactive and other hazardous materials.
Annual salary range for this position is $169,800 - $219,800. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Responsibilities:
Manage and provide the A-E services for maintaining and building the nuclear and non-nuclear infrastructure (buildings, facilities, roads, water, wastewater, waste management, and utilities) that provides the foundation for the mission activities of SRS and LANL. The work scope is to manage and execute the engineering and design activities, meeting all applicable national standards, DOE, NNSA, local, and state, regulations for General Plant Projects (GPP) and Line Item (LI) construction projects under the management and control of SRS and LANL. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling this work scope to the satisfaction of the tier one Prime contractor under an expected cost-plus type subcontract vehicle.
Program & Project Oversight:
* Manage day-to-day program operations across all architectural and engineering disciplines.
* Develop and maintain program plans, schedules, and budgets.
* Coordinate activities among design, engineering, and construction/fabrication teams.
* Track, report, and communicate program progress.
* Serve as primary point of contact between clients, design teams, consultants, and permitting authorities.
* Support contract negotiations and consultant coordination.
* Implement and refine program management processes to improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
* Twenty (20) plus years' experience working in the design and engineering of nuclear and non-nuclear facilities and infrastructure systems for the US Department of Energy (including the National Nuclear Security Administration), or the US. Department of Defense (USACE or NAVFAC).
* Experience with supervising engineers and designers
* Experience with Microsoft Office and Scheduling Software (e.g. MS Office, Primavera)
* Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
* Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Sciences in Engineering from ABET Accredited Program.
* Client projects for this position require your ability to obtain and maintain a LANL uncleared badge.
* Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
