As an IT Portfolio Manager, you will be a driving force in transforming how our technology initiatives are planned, prioritized, and delivered. You will cultivate deep, trust-based relationships with colleagues across the organization, from the business PMO and IT development teams to the C-suite. Leveraging these relationships, you will champion the adoption of portfolio and product management best practices, contribute to strategic planning, and optimize our project intake processes. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven ability to navigate complexity, influence stakeholders, and drive tangible outcomes in a fast-paced environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring our IT investments are strategically aligned, effectively managed, and deliver maximum value to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the adoption of portfolio and product management methodologies across business and IT teams to align technology initiatives with business strategy
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive 12-month strategic roadmap, ensuring a focus on desired business outcomes
* Lead initiatives to improve and streamline the IT project intake process, and facilitate the effective prioritization of requests based on strategic goals and business value
* Hold business PMO and IT Product Owners accountable for roadmap execution, outcome-based use cases, and the translation of strategic plans into actionable product roadmaps
* Define, develop, and present compelling C-suite level dashboards and reports on the health, performance, and financial status of the IT portfolio
* Proactively identify and resolve conflicts, influence stakeholders at all levels to drive process improvements, and educate them on critical processes like fixed asset capitalization
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience (8+ years)
* 5+ years of experience
* IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and practices
* DevOps methodologies, including Product Lifecycle Management
* Program management, managing complex and cross-functional initiatives
* Demonstrated experience:
* ServiceNow
* Jira (preferred) or Rally
* Experience contributing to and developing strategic roadmaps
* Experience working with Release Management and Deployment Planning processes
Skills and Qualifications:
* Advanced understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
* Advanced understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) preferably as a previous technical product owner perspective
* Demonstrated success in driving projects and initiatives forward in complex and undefined environments
* Successfully identified, designed, and implemented process improvements that resulted in increased efficiency and effectiveness within IT delivery
* Skilled in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
* Experienced in conflict resolution and stakeholder alignment
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority
* Comfortable presenting to and engaging with C-suite executives, translating technical initiatives into strategic outcomes
* Familiarity with financial management principles related to IT investments
* Experience in the telecommunications or satellite industry preferred
* Formal certification in project or portfolio management (e.g., PMP, PfMP) preferred
