				Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Payer Finance and Strategy, the Senior Analyst, Payer Finance will provide analytic support to the Payer Contracting and Performance team. The Senior Analyst will produce financial modeling in support of contract negotiations, ongoing contract management, and strategic initiatives to optimize organizational revenue, margin, and growth in alignment with Dana-Farber's mission and strategic objectives.

Along with supporting the financial and strategic goals of department, the Senior Analyst will work alongside the Contracting and Operations, and Population Health teams to support the execution of a cohesive payer strategy. The Senior Analyst will support Institute-wide profitability analysis and special projects in support of the Chief Financial Officer, and other senior members of the Finance team.

Responsibilities:

* Generate and analyze data to monitor contract performance, ensuring alignment with institutional budgets and forecasts.
* Provide analytical support for payer negotiations, including volume and growth projections and proposal evaluations.
* Conduct analysis and modeling for strategic initiatives related to reimbursement models, provider reporting, and regulatory compliance.
* Assist in creating a standardized framework for payor contract negotiations and maintain financial management tools for volume, payer mix, and charge mix.
* Coordinate special report requests, ensuring consistency and accuracy with other financial systems and reports.
* Work with departments to resolve data discrepancies and maintain payer and rate grids for cross-departmental use.
* Demonstrate technical and analytical expertise, and ensure timely follow-through.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other related field required. Master's degree preferred.
* 5 years of experience in financial performance management required. Preferably in the healthcare industry.
* Payer contracting experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
* Strata, Harvest, and/or EPIC experience is preferred. Experience with data mining, relational databases, and SQL query tools preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

* Must be comfortable manipulating, interpreting, and summarizing large data sets.
* Able to work in a matrixed environment and cross collaborate with others at varying reporting levels within and external to the organization.
* Capable of working independently and meeting deadlines with general supervision.
* Knowledge of clinical delivery systems, third party reimbursement, commercial payment methodologies and acute interest in evolving health reform is a plus.
* Able to manage multiple priorities, exceptional organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
* Able to cooperate and collaborate with multiple, cross-functional teams through superior interpersonal and communication skills.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft business applications, i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
* Able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
