Responsibilities:
As the Senior Packaging SME, you will lead and support Capital Project initiatives across various sites, specializing in High Speed Bottling, Secondary Packaging, Finished Goods Storage, and Pallet handling Systems. This role provides technical leadership in developing efficient, World Class, high-quality production processes, and ensures adherence to industry and regulatory standards. Partnering with cross-functional teams, you will drive innovation in packaging and finished goods storage and help shape capabilities within our Global Engineering agenda. Develop, Write, and Approve Company Functional Design Standards and determine gap analysis against those standards for all locations within Sazerac. Mentor junior engineers on skill development, work processes, and navigating change.
Provide Engineering and Technical expertise to support the High Speed Bottling, Secondary Packaging, Finished Goods Storage, and Pallet handling Operations, and as well as other Engineering Disciplines. As a member of the Strategic Operations Engineering Team this person is expected to support any company location with a Capital Project. That may include travel to any of the Sazerac locations.
Sets up each improvement project in PPT, ensuring all team members are added and assigned tasks completed to keep projects on time and under budget. Uses PPT to keep key stakeholders on track and informed of project updates.
Drive toward continuous improvement, growth, efficiency and cost savings. Creates project engineering processes and standards across the network to improve continuity, timelines, quality, adherence to construction and engineering best practices, and budget adherence.
Ensures High Speed Bottling, Secondary Packaging, Finished Goods Storage, and Pallet handling Systems operations meet regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA and TTB regulations. Takes immediate corrective action when needed to stay in compliance
Participates in the PDS process, meeting expectations for reporting on learnings and using feedback from the process to ensure optimal outcomes for the role.
Design safety into all new bottling installations. Develop SOPs for all bottling operations that drive practices to reduce and eliminate workplace injuries.
Be the Subject Matter Expert in High-Speed Bottling, Secondary Packaging, Finished Goods Storage, and Pallet Handling Systems. Assess current Bottling Plants to identify gaps and develop world-class solutions. Design and run process simulations, performing risk assessments to eliminate system constraints. Create Functional Design Specifications (FDS) for High-Speed Bottling, Secondary Packaging, Finished Goods Storage, and Pallet Handling systems, equipment, and methods. Develop TCO and competitive bidding evaluation systems to identify key partners for executing the FDS.
Meets and exceeds customer expectations through the support of High Speed Bottling, Secondary Packaging, Finished Goods Storage, and Pallet handling equipment and systems to deliver product on time within budget and to meet quality specifications. Troubleshoots operating problems, evaluates the situation and coordinates resolution.
Collaborates with operations leadership to identify improvements in High-Speed Bottling, Secondary Packaging, Finished Goods Storage, and Pallet Handling Systems, and develops long-term plans for each location. Creates capital projects and improvement plans, monitors progress, and reports to leadership. Resolves obstacles to project completion. Supports capacity planning and inventory accuracy efforts in these areas. Streamlines and documents processes to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance work quality.

7. Bachelor's degree or better
8. Experience leading Capital Improvements, change management, and Process improvement Projects.
9. Ability to travel up to 50%
10. Experience leading cross functional teams.
PREFERRED
* 3 years implementation or project management experience.
* 5 years implementation or project management experience.
* Ba/bs degree in process, systems, electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline
* 7 years' experience in engineering preferably within the hygienic process industries (brewing, distilling, food, pharmaceutical, health & beauty)
* PMP, PfMP, PgMP, lean 6 sigma or other project management experience and certification
* Experience writing and developing technical documents and company standards.
* Experience in distilled spirits processing, packaging, and finished goods storage
Physical Requirements
1. Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
