Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Senior Manager to lead HR Process Improvement initiatives across the Human Resources department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing process enhancements that increase efficiency, effectiveness, and employee experience within HR Shared Services. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including HR, IT, Legal, and business leaders, to develop and execute strategies that optimize workflows, streamline operations, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role will act as a "player / coach" by leading the team, leading high-stakes process initiatives, and also developing a comprehensive HR process optimization strategy that aligns with long-term corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership:
* Lead a team of process improvement individuals in their efforts to drive efficiency and experience improvements in order to reduce costs, optimize tools, and build credibility of the HR teams across the company
* Coach and mentor direct reports in areas of HR acumen, business acumen, relationship building, and accuracy of execution of processes
* Execute on required management tasks during cyclical events such as Performance Appraisal and Talent Planning
* Ensure employees on the team are provided efficient and effective training, development, and coaching during onboarding and ongoing development
* Employment brand ambassador who leads by example, and demonstrates EchoStar culture and values in his/her actions and words
* Understand and articulate department and EchoStar corporate business goals, including quantifiable financial returns of process improvements
* Process Analysis:
* Document current HR processes and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement
* Develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance service delivery
* Conducts studies, such as time studies or process studies, to review effectiveness of current processes and analyzes the effectiveness of tools.
* Work with colleagues in the DISH HR shared services organization (compensation, benefits, HRIS, analytics, etc) to assure good alignment with employee needs and ongoing process/service improvement initiatives
* Project Management:
* Lead and manage HR process improvement projects from initiation to completion, including identifying roles and responsibilities of functional owners within the implementation of improvements
* Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and manage stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle
* Change Management:
* Drive the adoption of new processes, systems, and tools within HR and across the organization, including design of broader plans
* Lead change management efforts, including training and supporting HR staff, to ensure smooth transitions to improved processes
* Develop and communicate a clear vision for process improvement initiatives, building buy-in across teams
* Data-Driven Decision Making:
* Use data-driven insights to make recommendations
* Utilize data analytics to monitor process performance and outcomes
* Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on the impact of process improvements
* Conduct root cause analysis to identify recurring issues and design long-term solutions
* Stakeholder Engagement:
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to align process improvement efforts with organizational goals
* Act as a liaison between HR teams and other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of initiatives
* Ensure stakeholder feedback is gathered and incorporated into process design and improvement plans
* Continuous Learning & Development:
* Stay current with HR best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions
* Share knowledge and best practices across the organization to foster a culture of continuous improvement within HR
This role reports to the Head HR Shared Services.Travel demands are estimated at less than 25%.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 5-7+ years of people management experience
* Strong understanding of HR processes (recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, etc.) and the ability to analyze and improve them
* Experience supporting multiple employee types and multiple lines of business (high volume/entry-level, professional/specialty, technology, etc.)
* Experience with process mapping and employee experience journey mapping
* Experience leading an HR team, including professionals at a manager level.
* Experience working in an entrepreneurial culture as well as a larger, established company desired
* Experience in coaching and advising employees at multiple levels from front-line hourly employees to executives
Skills and Qualifications:
* Ability to influence and communicate at the senior executive level
* Analytical, but able to communicate complex information simply
* Deep knowledge of best practices from past employers, professional networks, and continuing education; strong preference for past experience with a best-in-class employer with strong, innovative HR practices
* Ability to identify trends in data and/or observations, and is comfortable at informing and partnering with appropriate stakeholders to make recommendations based on trends
* Proven track record or building business and organizational acumen, and applying knowledge to problem solving efforts and recommendations to leadership
* Ability to engage in networking and leverage relationships to solve problems
