				Overview:

The Senior People Partner - GTM and Finance is a strategic HR partner to Avalara's global Go-to-Market and Finance teams. This role drives engagement, talent development, and culture programs that support scalable growth and operational excellence. As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, the role influences outcomes through data, coaching, and people strategies. It blends long-term thinking with hands-on execution.

Reporting to Senior Director, People & Culture (India)

Location: Pune (Viman Nagar)

Responsibilities:

* Partner with GTM and Finance leaders to align people strategies with business goals that drive performance, retention, and growth.

* Deliver key HR initiatives across talent development, succession planning, engagement, and culture.

* Use people data and insights to guide decisions, improve team effectiveness, and support organizational design.

* Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to identify skill gaps, build succession pipelines, and enable scalable hiring.

* Coach leaders and employees on feedback, performance, and development using Avalara's continuous performance model.

* Work with Engagement, Talent Management, and broader P&C teams to strengthen inclusion, belonging, and team health.

* Address employee relations matters and workplace issues in partnership with Employee Relations and Legal, ensuring compliance and a healthy environment.

* Improve HR processes by simplifying workflows, finding automation opportunities, and ensuring compliance with policies and employment laws.

Qualifications:

* 7-8 years of progressive HR experience, including direct business partner support.

* Experience advising senior leaders and working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

* Strong coaching skills with proven ability in talent development, organizational design, and employee relations.

* General knowledge of employment laws and HR practices across regions (e.g., U.S., India).

* Strong business acumen with the ability to use people data to inform decisions.

* Proficient in HRIS tools (Workday preferred) and comfortable working with multiple business systems.

* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across global teams.
