Senior Government Compliance Specialist - BuzzBallz
Bio: The Senior Government Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring full regulatory compliance and operational accuracy related to spirits processing, inventory control, and reporting with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). This role ensures all documentation-including Processing Reports, Bottling Records, and Bills of Lading (BOLs)-is complete, accurate, and audit-ready. Key responsibilities include supporting audits through verification of tax rates on bottled products and outbound shipments, maintaining accurate records of both bulk and case goods inventory, and supporting physical inventory activities to ensure product integrity and stockroom accuracy. This position also manages and submits TTB Form 5110.28 (Processing Operations Report) and facilitates timely payment of Federal Excise Taxes (FET) using Form 5000.24A on a semi-monthly basis. The Specialist ensures ongoing compliance with TTB regulations and company policies related to personal safety, food safety, quality, and environmental standards. Additionally, the Specialist manages all inventory in the Bonded Case Goods Warehouse, ensures records match quantities on hand, prepares import payment documents, coordinates with Processing for timely bulk product unloading, and ensures compliance with U.S. customs regulations.
* Ensure compliance with TTB regulations across all operational areas, including bottling, processing, and shipping. Collaborate with department managers to uphold standards, conduct compliance audits, and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate records, support operational accuracy, and ensure adherence to all Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies. Also, reviews and distributes import documents, prepares shipment paperwork, coordinates with Customs for container clearance, manages Customs entry processes, handles DDG pickups and sales documentation, and prepares grain receipt and shipment reports
* Prepare, review, and submit semi-monthly FET reports to the TTB and duty payments to U.S. Customs with precision and timeliness. Responsibilities include receiving and reconciling Form 7501 from the Customs Broker to confirm amounts owed for each withdrawal, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate payment within the tax period. Distribute finalized FET reports to internal stakeholders, customers, and the corporate office. Manage all filings with close attention to their multi-million-dollar financial impact and submit FET claims accurately to all required agencies.
* Engage in and promote continuous learning to remain current with federal excise and customs tax regulations by attending seminars and training offered by regulatory agencies or industry organizations. Provide training to employees who serve as backups for this role. Prepare and submit all required reports to the TTB, corporate offices, plant personnel, and state agencies promptly and accurately. Partner with the manager to validate system-generated Government Records reports and contribute to process improvements to ensure accuracy and reliability for both internal and external reporting requirements.
* Perform routine audits of production, inventory, and plant operations to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs recordkeeping and transaction requirements. Manage inventory in the Customs Bonded Warehouse (CBW) with accurate records. Support U.S. Customs audits, maintain SOPs, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies. Audit bottling, processing, and shipping areas for TTB compliance. Partner with managers on corrective actions and improvements and provide training to strengthen compliance awareness.

Qualifications:
MUST
* Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
* At least 21 years of age
* Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
* Bachelor Degree in Business or commensurate experience
* Strong planning and organizational skills
* Detail Oriented
* Strong analytical and technical skills
* Ability to formulate compliance solutions acceptable to both Government Agencies and Company Plants
* Demonstrated knowledge of all relevant government regulations
* 7 years Experience in a compliance related field such as TTB, Customs, IRS, auditing
PREFERRED
* 4 years Alcoholic Beverage Industry compliance experience
* 4 years Experience working with external/internal auditors
