Responsibilities: Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session. This role addresses the complexities of a high-scale Ecommerce environment where performance optimization and platform stability are critical. The position solves challenges related to GraphQL over-fetching, database bottlenecks, cache management, and modernizing legacy codebases to event-driven architectures. Additionally, this role drives the technical execution of long-term AI initiatives and technical debt mitigation to accelerate high-quality feature delivery across a global platform. What Success Looks Like (Objectives) * Improve monolithic architectures by implementing serverless microservices using modern PHP patterns and Node.js to achieve decoupling targets. * Optimize platform performance by resolving database bottlenecks, tuning SQL operations, and implementing cache invalidation strategies to meet department uptime OKRs. * Deliver decoupled solutions across AEM and Commerce systems that enforce clean separation between transactional backend logic and presentation layers. * Accelerate software delivery and lower maintenance overhead by integrating generative AI coding assistants and automation tooling into development cycles. * Mitigate production risk by implementing telemetry monitoring, automated CI/CD pipeline checks, and load testing prior to deployments. * Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight to offshore development partners to maintain code quality and engineering standards. Qualifications: Core Skills and Competencies (What You'll Bring) * Advanced expertise in Object-Oriented Programming, modern PHP patterns, and serverless Node.js development using platforms such as Adobe App Builder or AWS Lambda. * Technical depth in GraphQL schema design, backend resolver optimization, and REST API development for low-latency data retrieval. * Command of cloud-based development workflows, Docker containerization, and Git branching models. * AI application competence, specifically applying generative AI tools to code refactoring, test suite generation, and workflow automation. * Root-cause diagnosis skills for high-latency transactions, database deadlocks, and infrastructure resource contention in production environments. Additional Qualifications * Hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Adobe Commerce (Magento 2.x) in headless, hybrid, or API Mesh environments * Familiarity with Adobe App Builder or serverless microservice orchestration * Working knowledge of message brokers and caching layers including RabbitMQ, Redis, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch * Integration experience with enterprise third-party services such as Ping Identity, Recurly, and Vertex * Practical experience operating in Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks Minimum Requirements * Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field * Minimum Experience: 5 years of experience in PHP and Node.js software application development * Required Technical Skills: Must have at least 5 years of experience with: * JavaScript and Node.js * PHP 8.x (specifically 8.2 or 8.3) * MySQL/SQL optimization and schema design Visa sponsorship not available for this role #LI-JZ2
