Being part of a dynamic team this position will plan and conduct control testing, ensure all financial processes are accurately documented, and all financial risks have been identified and mitigated. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Document work products (walkthroughs, test plans/results, deficiencies, and process documentation). * Perform control testing in line with FRCF methodology. * Advise on process flows established by the organization, with a particular emphasis on measuring both the effectiveness and efficiency of those processes. * Provide feedback to business process owners that would be seen as value added. * Assist with special projects through a financial controls perspective. * Assist in ensuring that all control deficiencies discovered company-wide are remediated appropriately and in a timely fashion. * To advise on best practices to mitigate financial reporting risk, optimize controls and business processes. * To provide guidance to process owners to ensure that adequate financial reporting controls are embedded in the business and that process and/or action plans are in place. * To ensure appropriate documentation and audit evidence is in place for external/ internal audit review. QUALIFICATIONS: * Accounting and/or auditing designation or working towards one (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA, CIA). * Finance related University Degree. * Experience in property/casualty insurance industry is an asset 2-3 years experience in control testing (SOX) internal audit and/or external audit Financial controls and audit background preferred. * Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry. * Understanding of financial accounting. * Understanding of the financial risks faced by an organization & how to mitigate these risks. * Understanding of financial controls and how to design and test operational effectiveness of controls * Excellent communication skills, written and verbal ability to clearly present ideas and findings to others externally.
