The Senior Environmental Services Aide is accountable for a variety of cleaning tasks in order to maintain a clean environment for patients, clients and visitors.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a Senior Environmental Service Aide at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

* Cleans patient care rooms, outpatient areas and public areas following proper procedures in all areas as assigned to meet HackensackUMC cleaning standards. 
*  Maintains all floors surfaces. 
* Performs repetitive cleaning operations throughout the work day under specific instructions with little need for individual judgment in working out job problems. 
* Works with frequent contact with water and cleaning solutions.
* Moves furniture as required. 
* Replaces shower curtains as needed. 
* Collects soiled linen and disposes of same linen in laundry chute.
*  Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

* High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. 
* Three years of hospital housekeeping experience. 
* Good communication skills.

Licenses and Certifications Required: 

* Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST / AHE). 
* Maintain annual CEUs and renew certification every 4 years.
