PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Senior Enterprise Data Governance Analyst at our Tysons, Virginia; San Antonio, Texas or Irving, Texas location. The primary purpose of this job is to drive adoption of PenFed's Enterprise Data Governance procedures by working with business data stewards. The incumbent will work with business data stewards to create/track/monitor the execution of the Data Governance project plan. Also, co-ordinate root cause analysis, prioritization and resolution of data quality issues. Will also drive data retention, archival, sensitive data identification, classification, and tagging as per the defined procedures.

The role will require development and management/maintenance of technical capabilities to support and mature data governance program, including day-to-day operations, administration and maintenance of the PenFed's data governance toolsets. Develop and implement innovative technical/non-technical solutions and practices that advance objectives of the Enterprise Data Governance program.  Forging effective partnerships with PenFed leadership, internal audit and interfacing with vendors to track and monitor enhancement, incident requests will be required.

* Be the change/enforcement agent to enable user adoption of Data Governance processes, procedures, controls by business
* Identification and management of critical data elements inventory.
* Manage Enterprise Data Quality issues, in partnership with Business Data Stewards.
* Advise business data stewards in their adherence to Data Retention & Archival, Sensitive Data Handling, Data Sharing, 3rd Party Data Management processed and procedures.
* Define acceptable usage of data and drive consistency in interpretation and usage of data.
* Provide data governance support to the enterprise data team, and Data Owners and Data Stewards in the business, including recognizing issues and recommend solution alternatives.
* Design, document and present the technical design of components that develops and matures PenFed's data governance program;
* Innovate and experiment newer ways of executing data governance processes that brings in efficiency.
* Partner with key PenFed internal stakeholders, i.e. info security, privacy, risk and business controls, internal audit, as and when required to keep the data governance program well integrated with other enterprise level programs.
* Create and maintain assets (job aids, standards) for program stakeholders (admin, data stewards/owners/custodians/engineers) to assist standardization of activities for efficiency.
* Design and develop metrics used for monitoring and reporting on the program, by downstream consumers and to support system operations.
* Provide technical and operational support for PenFed's data governance toolsets.
* Lead requirements discussions with business and technical partners to evaluate the optimal path forward.

Qualifications:

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

* Bachelor's degree in information systems or business management in the related field is required, Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
* Domain experience in at least one of these: retail banking, mortgage, finance.
* Experience of standardizing best practices and rolling out at enterprise level 
* Experience of working on any Data Governance and Management industry solution is preferred.
* Technical background to work effectively with Data Platform and Data Engineering teams to enhance and mature the Data Governance toolkit
* Proven experience with data governance concepts including policy, business glossary, data classification, data quality, data lineage, archival, sharing.
* Proven experience administering technology systems, with exposure/familiarity with data management tools such as Snowflake, SQL, Excel, Tableau.
* Must be proficient with MS Office Suite.
* Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work with all management levels, especially the ability to message in a concise and understandable way.
* Exposure/Familiarity with risk and control terminologies.

* Experience of defining project goals and measurable key results, building project plans, monitoring and managing risks and dependencies, reporting on the project progress, delays and successes.

* Knowledge and experience of working in Reference/Master Data management efforts will be an added advantage.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not directly supervise employees.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
