We're looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Product Development team in Edinburgh and help design the embedded software behind our next generation of wireless audio systems.
You'll develop and optimise software that connects hardware, firmware, and wireless communication technologies to deliver the exceptional performance and reliability that define Shure.
You'll bring knowledge of communications protocols and a passion for building high-quality embedded solutions.

Responsibilities:
* Design and develop embedded software for Shure products.
* Debug embedded software.
* Work with operating systems such as Linux and FreeRTOS.
* Collaborate with hardware and wireless engineers to align system design and implementation.
* Support product and platform development using networking protocols.
* Participate in cross-functional teams delivering cutting-edge audio solutions.
* Contribute to architecture design using UML and established development methodologies.
* Develop use cases to model real-time systems behaviour.
* Review design and code, mentoring less senior engineers where appropriate.
Qualifications:
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
* 6+ years' experience in embedded systems development.
* Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as Ethernet, USB, AISG, and TCP/IP.
* Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented design principles in embedded firmware development
* Ability to design modular, maintainable software architectures with clear interfaces.
* Experience with embedded operating systems and leveraging hardware capabilities.
* Strong analytical skills and sound engineering judgment.
Desirable Skills
* Proven experience with wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, or DECT.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
Shure offers a competitive compensation structure that is reviewed annually to attract, hire, and retain the industry's top talent. Salaries vary based on qualifications, location, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salary for the opportunity. The salary for this position ranges from GBP 49,300 to GBP 78,900.
If your salary expectations do not align, still apply as we might be flexible on the seniority of posted positions. All positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
