The [Senior] Corporate Counsel will primarily serve as a senior legal advisor supporting AmTrust Risk Solutions' reinsurance-backed and structured program business. This role is responsible for structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex program-related agreements and ensuring that all legal documentation operates cohesively across underwriting, reinsurance, operations, and finance. In addition, the [Senior] Corporate Counsel will support AmTrust's core domestic insurance businesses, draft and negotiate relevant agreements and provide regulatory guidance.

Responsibilities:

*  Draft, review, and negotiate MGA, TPA, reinsurance, credit, collateral, trust, and letter-of-credit (LOC) agreements.
* Ensure consistency and alignment across all legal documentation supporting reinsurance-backed and hybrid fronting programs.
* Provide strategic legal counsel on program structure, risk allocation, and governance.
* Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with specialty program structures.
* Partner with underwriting, finance, operations, and compliance teams.
* Manage relationships with external counsel, reinsurers, MGAs, TPAs, and business partners.
* Support audits, due diligence, and regulatory examinations.
* Provide legal training and guidance to internal stakeholders. 
* Provide guidance regarding various insurance laws and regulations that impact the business.
* Draft insurance policy forms and endorsements for various lines of business, including commercial and financial and credit insurance.

Qualifications:

*  Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. 
* Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. 
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, or specialty program business. 
* Strong experience with MGA, TPA, reinsurance, and collateral agreements. 
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
* Familiarity with financial and commercial lines and credit insurance

The expected salary range for this role is $150,200-$250,000/annually.
